The 30 NATO members spent 1.18 trillion dollars on defence last year, a 3.1% rise over 2020, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in his annual report on Thursday. Figures from the alliance’s report show European members and Canada made up a less than a third of NATO defence spending at 31% while the United States accounted for 69%, despite US pressure to boost spending.
