You probably know Samsung’s models Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, you will not find them in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania or Ukraine. This is not because Samsung has stopped selling them in those countries, but because they have been renamed a little. The company has chosen to give them a slightly different name by simply removing Z from the name. The reason is that Z is used by pro-Russian groups and is used both on social media, spray-painted on Russian military vehicles and so on.
Samsung itself has not commented on the “name change”, for example if it is only temporary and if it will be done in more countries than Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania or Ukraine.
