German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht underlined Germany’s new role in security and defence policy during a visit to Washington on Tuesday. “Germany has arrived in the new reality and is facing up to the consequences,” Lambrecht said at a meeting of the Atlantic Council think tank. “Germany will achieve NATO’s planning goals – and faster than promised.
