A vessel operated by Danish shipping giant Maersk lost some 90 containers in the northern Pacific Ocean earlier this week due to rough weather, the company told dpa on Friday. Of those lost, nine were classified as “dangerous cargo,” containing lithium-ion batteries, the company said. A further 100 containers were damaged, but no crew members were injured, Maersk said. The incident on board the Liberian-flagged Dyros took place while the ship was on the way from Yantian in China to Seattle, on the western coast of the United States.
