New Jersey on Thursday reported another 14 confirmedCOVID-19 deaths and 996 positive tests as the state remains at “low” community levels of coronavirus based on CDC criteria. The state’s seven-day average for confirmed cases was dropped to 774 on Thursday, down 17% from a week ago and 55% from a month ago as the recent massive wave driven by the omicron variant has largely receded. Those numbers, however, are slightly skewed by an additional 1,040 cases added to Wednesday’s case count that were from December and January tests.
