Jesse Luketa was a four-star recruit out of Mercyhurst Prep in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was recruited as a linebacker and lined up in the box for most of the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Often referred to as a “positionless” player, Luketa showed off his versatility in 2021 as he lined up on the edge for the Nittany Lions. The team captain showed he was willing to play anywhere that head coach James Franklin asked him to, and his overall leadership.
