MESA, Ariz. — The Chicago Cubs have finally made a big splash to address a major need. Japanese star outfielder Seiya Suzuki is signing with the Cubs. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported that the deal — which includes a full no-trade clause — is for $85 million over five years. The Cubs must also pay the posting fee. Suzuki, 27, was one of the top free agents on the market. His deal is the largest in Major League Baseball history for a Japanese position player.
