The Eiffel Tower in Paris has been 6 metres taller since Tuesday after a new radio antenna was installed at the top of the landmark by helicopter, the Eiffel Tower Society announced. The antenna is used to transmit digital radio in the greater Paris area. The Eiffel Tower is now 330 metres tall. The last time the Eiffel Tower gained a little height was 22 years ago with the installation of another antenna. For a long time, a large number of antennas have been attached to the top of the structure. Over 100 years ago, the first French radio programme was even broadcast from the Eiffel Tower.
