When the Jersey City City Council “untabled” and passed the Morris Canal Redevelopment Plan amendments Wednesday in spite of Bergen-Lafayette Councilman Frank Gilmore’s objections, he was confounded. The 6-3 vote — James Solomon and Rich Boggiano also voted against it — on the controversial 17-story mixed-use Bergen-Lafayette project can now move forward. Gilmore had hoped that he could convince Skyline Development Group owner Lou Mont to lower the height.
