The Jersey City school district is losing another $68.5 million in state aid, according to the figures released Thursday by the state Department of Education. The deep cut, which amounts to 27%, was not unexpected. The school district was placed on a multi-year austerity plan to trim more than $250 million in aid, starting back in 2018. After receiving $253.2 million this year, Jersey City will receiving $184.7 million for the 2022-23 school year.
