It was revealed on Saturday that Griner was being detained in Russia due to an incident at the airport in Moscow. Houston Congressional Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee has called for Russia to release Griner back to the United States so she can rejoin the Phoenix Mercury and see her friends and family again.
