The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday continued to investigate the shooting of an unidentified male on a hiking trail in West Orange. Several hikers discovered the body Friday on the trail at Eagle Rock Reservation on the border of West Orange and Montclair, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II. The victim, who investigators still had not identified as of Saturday morning, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:16 p.m., Stephens said in a statement.
