After fresh numbers show that drug-related deaths have more than doubled in the last decade, a WEST Belfast mother has spoken out about her late daughter’s fight with drugs. According to estimates from the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), there were 218 drug-related deaths in 2020, up from 92 in 2010. A total of 55 deaths have been related to heroin and morphine. Cocaine-related deaths soared to 36 in 2020, the highest number ever recorded.
