Microsoft’s Flight Simulator has received another local legend.
This is a special series of aircraft that celebrate aviation history.
The third local legend
The latest aircraft is the Dornier Do J Wal. It is the third Local Legend and it is linked to World Update VIII, which focuses on Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar.
The aircraft was designed by the German company Dornier, and the maiden flight took place on November 6, 1922. Due to restrictions after World War I, the aircraft was first manufactured in Italy, then in Germany from 1931 to 1936.
The aircraft was in use until the early 1950s, and later there was a civilian model in addition to a military variant.
Available in the marketplace
“The aircraft has been meticulously recreated for Microsoft Flight Simulator, paying close attention to the finest details both inside and out,” it said.
However, the Dornier Do J Wal is not free. You can purchase them as part of the local legends in Flight Simulator’s in-game marketplace. The price of the Dornier Do J Wal is 14.99 euros.
More Local Legends are set to be released in the coming months. Microsoft recently announced a new update for Flight Simulator, which should improve Italy and Malta.
The game has also been playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming since the beginning of March. You can read about what all this means for the game in our interview with Jörg Neumann.
