Jersey City Public Schools will make masks optional starting March 7 when thestatewide mask mandate ends. Interim Superintendent Norma Fernandez announced Tuesday that masks will be “a matter of personal choice.” Facial coverings will also be optional for students who use the bus. “Parents know their children and their families best and will have to decide if they want their children to wear a mask,” Fernandez said in her video to parents. “No student, staff member or visitor will be penalized for exercising the option for continuing to wear a mask or facial covering.
