Significantly more men and women in Poland want to join the army following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to data from the Defence Ministry in Warsaw. In the last week of February, 2,200 people applied to serve in the armed forces, the ministry said on Tuesday. Previously, there had been around 400 applicants per week. Interest in the Territorial Defence Force (WOT), whose volunteers train one weekend per month, has also increased.
