Following Antonio Conceicao’s resignation, Cameroon has selected Rigobert Song as their new national team coach. The order to appoint Song came from the country’s president Paul Biya, according to a statement released by the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) on Monday, February 28 and signed by Cameroon’s Minister of Sports Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. Conceicao took over as manager in 2019 and guided Cameroon to a third-place finish in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, which was contested in January on home soil.
