BRUSSELS (Reuters) – A proposal to speed up the synchronisation of Ukraine’s power grid with a European system was met with broad agreement from the bloc’s 27 countries on Monday, the European Union’s energy policy chief said. “There was a broad agreement around the table. Based on this, we will move forward… to connect Ukraine’s electricity system as quickly as possible,” EU energy commissioner Kadri Simson said after a meeting of energy ministers from EU countries, who discussed speeding up the long-planned link.
