Lauren Boebert of Colorado introduced a bill co-sponsored honors Emma Weyant – a collegiate swimmer who finished in second place at the NCAA swimming championship last week. Weyant, a silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, finished second in the 500-yard freestyle race. Lia Thomas, who finished first in the race, became the first transgender woman to win an NCAA title.
