Jersey City police officer on patrol in one of the city’s violent crime “hot spots” were shot by someone with a BB or pellet gun Tuesday afternoon, police said in radio transmissions. The report came in just before 4 p.m. from Martin Luther King Drive between Myrtle and Grant avenues. The two officers who were struck refused medical attention at the scene. The shooting came two hours after authorities arrested a West Orange man in North Carolina in connection with a murder that occurred at the same location in November 2021.
