Hafsat Mohammad is the head girl at the Maiduguri Learning Centre, Maiduguri, Borno State, where orphans and displaced children are being rehabilitated, educated and prepared to become better citizens in the future. The learning centre was established in 2017 by the North East Children Trust, NECT, initiated by Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to provide education and care for children orphaned by the Boko Haram insurgency.
