Adding its voice to those of the Estonian and Lithuanian parliaments, Latvia’s parliament also wants the establishment of a no-fly zone over Ukraine. The Saeima People’s Assembly in Riga called on the United Nations to take the appropriate steps without delay in order to protect human lives and ensure the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. At the same time, lawmakers from the Baltic EU and NATO country demanded that measures be taken as soon as possible to ensure safe humanitarian corridors on Ukrainian territory.
