Home favourite Marius Lindvik took the individual title at the world ski flying championships in Vikersund, Norway. The Olympic large hill champion led after Friday’s first two jumps and did not look back in Saturday’s two-jump finale. Ski flying is the same as ski jumping but is held on huge hills that allow jumpers to hang longer in the air. Lindvik flew 230 metres and 224.5m for a two-day total 854.2 points, an advantage of 9.9 over Slovenia’s Timi Zajc, who snatched second when Austria’s world record holder Stefan Kraft had a poor final jump.
