Former Austrian minister for family affairs and opinion researcher Sophie Karmasin is to be remanded in custody, according to media reports. The district court in Vienna sustained a corresponding motion by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Economic Affairs and Corruption (WKStA) on Friday due to the risk of a criminal offence, without officially confirming the name of the person involved.
