Maiken Caspersen Falla delighted a Norwegian home crowd when she beat Sweden’s Jonna Sundling in a fierce duel of Olympic champions in a cross-country World Cup sprint race in Drammen in Thursday. The men’s race saw a first career win for French skier Richard Jouve and Wang Qiang in second became the first ever Chinese athlete to make a podium in the sport. The 2014 gold medallist Falla powered past Sundling, who triumphed last month at the Beijing Games, on the final uphill to the finish line on the city centre course.
