The tongue-twisting name of the Forked River (pronounced FORK-id river) service area will no longer vex drivers after the Garden State Parkway rest stop was renamed for salsa great and New Jersey Hall of Famer Celia Cruz Wednesday evening. Parkway maintenance crews changed the service area signs Wednesday night, which is the first step to renaming the building and installing an exhibit inside about Cruz’s life and her 60-year-long musical career.
