Swedish vehicle manufacturer Volvo and Germany’s Daimler Truck say they have halted business activities in Russia because of the Ukraine conflict. Volvo says it has temporarily halted production at a factory in Russia as well as sales in the country. “This decision takes effect immediately and applies until further notice,” a company spokesman told dpa on Monday. The factory in Kaluga, south of Moscow, employs 700 people. Another 600 employees are involved with sales, maintenance and repair in Russia, the spokesman said.
