Officials have investigated several highly publicized dog abuse cases in South Jersey in recent months. In an incident from late last year, the animal died from the abuse and a foundation has been formed in his honor. In one of the most recent cases, involving a chihuahua stuffed in a bag and discarded near railroad tracks last weekend, a reward for information on the abuser has grown to $6,000.
