Frank Ullrich, the chairman of the sports committee in the German parliament, has again spoken out in favour of a bid to bring the Olympic Games back to the country. “In my opinion, this is long overdue,” he told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper. “I am sure that a great many sportsmen and sportswomen in Germany see it the same way. “I would very much welcome a bid and I am 100 per cent committed to it,” the 1980 Olympic biathlon champion said. “We will be able to host fabulous, sustainable Games if the majority of society seriously wants it, I am sure of that. “It must be made clear to the people…
