Former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder on Thursday called on Russia to end the war in Ukraine and the suffering it is causing for its people as soon as possible. “This is the responsibility of the Russian government,” Schröder said in a LinkedIn post, adding that Russia’s security interests did not justify the use of military means.
