Sweden’s Sara Hector continued her strong giant slalom World Cup form with a third season victory in Italy which she achieved despite a big mistake in the second run. Hector clocked a combined total 2 minutes 36.3 seconds in Kronplatz after almost missing a gate midway through the final run. Slovak first-run leader Petra Vlhova had less trouble at that gate but it wasn’t enough to hold on to the lead as she had to settle for second, .15 off the pace.
