Tens of thousands of people across Germany demonstrated on Monday evening against compulsory vaccination and coronavirus containment measures. In many places, counter-demonstrators also held their own events or vigils for the victims of the pandemic. Police counted more than 100 separate gatherings in the southern state of Bavaria alone, with tens of thousands of participants. The largest was in Nuremberg.
