A member of Libya’s collective head of state said that long-awaited elections must be held in the country this year, during a meeting with Italian diplomats. Abdullah Al-Lafi, one of two Libyan Presidential Council vice-chairs, spoke with Ambassador Giuseppe Buccino and Special Envoy Nicola Orlando, The Libya Observer reported on Monday.
