The former Germany midfielder Mario Basler has taken a coaching position with lower league amateur side Türkgücü Osnabrück after losing a bet on a game of squash. “It’s an honour for us that Mario Basler comes in as a volunteer coach,” Türkgücü chairman Caner Ciftci, who hopes for an engagement of up to 18 months, told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung on Wednesday.
