German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has congratulated the German team for their performance at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. “Congratulations to the entire team for impressive performances, great moments and a successful Olypic Games – and under all the difficult circumstances,” Scholz wrote on Twitter on Sunday. A final tally of 12 golds, 10 silvers and five bronze gave Germany second place in the final medal table behind Norway, who garnered a Winter Games record 16 golds and 37 medals overall.
