Bayer Leverkusen will be without their top scorer Patrik Schick for a “few weeks” after he was injured in Friday’s Bundesliga defeat to Mainz. The 26-year-old Czech “suffered a muscle fiber tear in his left calf,” Leverkusen said Sunday after an MRT scan. Only Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski has scored more goals than Schick’s 20 in the league this season. The Czech Republic also have an anxious wait on Schick’s fitness ahead of their World Cup play-off semi-final away to Sweden on March 24.
