Bart Swings swung into action on the home straight to win the men’s speed skating mass start at the Beijing Olympics on Saturday, Belgium’s first-ever individual Winter Games gold and only their second overall. Irene Schouten of the Netherlands also left it late but underlined her speed skating dominance in Beijing by grabbing a third gold in the women’s mass start.
