Justine Braisaz-Bouchet came from behind to give the French women’s biathlon team a first Beijing Olympics gold in the final female event while Norwegian bronze medallist Marte Olsbu Röiseland got her fifth medal. Braisaz-Bouchet had four penalty laps in windy conditions en route to her biggest career success, winning the 12.5 kilometres mass start in 40 minutes 18.0 seconds waving a French flag.
