Jarl Magnus Riiber took a wrong turn as he failed to get the elusive Nordic combined Olympic gold medal the day after coming out of coronavirus quarantine – but Norway still got a one-two finish from Jörgen Graabak and Jens Luraas Oftebro. Graabak roared to victory from 12th after the jumping portion to repeat his success from 2014 in the event, twinning a large hill ski jump with 10-kilometres cross-country pursuit.
