The crew of the ship belonging to the private aid organization SOS Mediterranee has rescued more migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea by boat. Almost 250 people are now on board the Ocean Viking, the organization announced on Monday. Early on Monday the volunteers took about 20 men and women on board during their fifth rescue patrol in international waters within the Libyan search and rescue zone. Several unaccompanied children were among those rescued. SOS Mediterranee’s rescue operation began on Saturday.
