The Netherlands has urged its citizens to leave Ukraine. “The security situation was already worrying and it has been deteriorating over the past few days,” Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra said on Saturday. The decision was taken in consultation with allied countries. The decision was preceded by a warning from the US government about a possible imminent Russian attack on Ukraine. An evacuation mission was “not an option,” said Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine Jannes de Mol, according to the ANP news agency.
