New Jersey on Friday reported another 2,224 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 60 deaths as the number of hospitalizations dropped below 1,700 for the first time in nearly two months. The state’s seven-day average for confirmed positive tests dropped to 1,969, down 36% from a week ago and 93% from a month ago as the recent surge driven by the omicron variant continues to subside.
