The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) said on Friday they would appeal the lifting of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva’s doping suspension that would allow her to compete in the Olympic women’s event. The IOC appeal comes via the International Testing Agency (ITA), and the ruling skating body ISU also said it would bring the case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). A quick decision is required because teenage sensation Valieva is set to compete in the Olympic women’s event from Tuesday onwards. WADA later confirmed it would also appeal. …
