German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is due to fly to Mali and Niger on Monday, in a trip that comes as Berlin weighs the future of deployments in the region. She plans to hold talks with Mali’s transitional President Assimi Goïta and Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop in Bamako, according to a ministry spokesperson. Baerbock is also planning to meet representatives of the EU training mission EUTM and the UN stabilization mission MINUSMA.
