Three new gameplay videos have been released for the upcoming Star Trek adventure called Star Trek: Resurgence. They show a series of gameplay sequences and give a first impression of the gaming experience.
The development studio Dramatic Labs announced Star Trek: Resurgence, a new licensed game in the Star Trek universe, at last year’s Game Awards. It was presented as an interactive, action-driven title that tells an original story in a “choice-driven adventure.” Since former Telltale developers are also working on the game, the expected gameplay should perhaps become a little clearer.
But actually you don’t have to guess much anymore, because IGN has released a new series of gameplay videos for Star Trek: Resurgence. The game tells an original story set to take place shortly after the events of the Star Trek: The Next Generation films. The player must take on the role of two main characters: Officer Jara Rydek and Ensign Carter Diaz. Both characters will uncover a dark secret about two civilizations on the verge of war. Popular character Spock will also make an appearance as a Vulcan ambassador. This can also be seen in the first gameplay video during a briefing.
Another gameplay video sees Ensign Carter Diaz and gives a glimpse of the 3rd person controls outside of dialogue.
The latest gameplay video from IGN shows Jara Rydek’s first encounter with Captain Solano aboard the new starship USS Resolute.
Star Trek: Resurgence is slated for release later this year. A more specific release date is not yet known. The available platforms are PC (via Epic Games Store), Playstation 5, Playstation 4 and Xbox Series X|S. Unlike the older Telltale adventures, Star Trek: Resurgence is sold as a complete game.
