Finland’s Iivo Niskanen reigned supreme again in a classic style cross country ski race on Friday to win a third career Olympic gold and erase some ghosts from the past. Niskanen, 30, led at all the splits as he beat Russian skiathlon gold medallist Alexander Bolshunov and Norway’s Johannes Hösflot Kläbo in Zhangjiakou over 15 kilometres. All of Niskanen’s success has come in classic style races, led by his Olympic golds which before Friday were in the 2014 team sprint and the 50km in 2018. He also has a 15km world title from 2017 and all of his seven World Cup wins have come over the distance…
