The leaders of Germany’s Green Party say they will put forward a successor as family minister in the coalition government, after the incumbent offered to resign on Monday. Greens party co-leader Omid Nouripour, said he supported Anne Spiegel’s decision to resign. The party leaders had the greatest respect for her courage and clarity, said co-leader Ricarda Lang. Chancellor Olaf Scholz, from the Social Democrats, said he had “great respect” for Spiegel.
