A German court has sentenced a Polish couple to jail tems for cramming 16 Kurdish migrants into a van and driving them from Belarus through Poland to Germany under inhumane conditions. “You have made yourselves guilty of inhumane and degrading treatment of people,” the judge said on Thursday in imposing a sentence of three years on the 39-year-old man and of two years and four months on the woman.
