The upcoming update 1.0.0 for “eFootball 2022” should fix many criticisms of the “PES” successor. Konami now commented on the “incompleteness of the game”.
The Pro Evolution Soccer franchise has always had its fans, but has mostly been overshadowed by Electronic Arts’ FIFA series. Konami eventually decided to ditch the PES brand and replace it with the free-to-play title eFootball.
However, the new concept was not well received by players, mainly due to the technical imperfections at the time of release. When it was released, the football simulation on Steam was rated “extremely negative”. Metacritic named eFootball the worst rated game of 2021.
Update 1.0.0 is supposed to bring improvements and bug fixes
With the upcoming version 1.0.0 “eFootball” will be published in a first full version. With the update, Konami wants to address many criticisms and bring new features, balance improvements and bug fixes into play. Developer and publisher Konami believes the criticism of the soccer game was caused by several factors.
