EKWB has introduced a new GPU mount that allows users to display their graphics card or its cooler vertically in the viewing window. The package includes a 20 centimeter riser cable according to PCI Express 4.0.
Even these days, graphics cards cannot be installed vertically in all cases, for example to present the water cooling block in an appealing way. Sometimes there is this option, but the positioning needs improvement. For such cases, EKWB has created a new graphics card holder. The “EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO”, which according to the manufacturer consists of black-coated steel up to 1.5 millimeters thick, holds the hardware securely in position. According to EK Water Blocks, this is even the case during transport or the installation of hoses.

A PCI Express riser cable is included with the mount, which is ultimately also required since the PCIe slot is far away when positioned vertically. Worth mentioning is the underlying PCI Express 4.0 standard, which made it into the mainstream in 2019 with AMD’s Ryzen 3000 processors and is now considered the standard. Alder Lake processors even rely on the successor PCIe 5.0 – but graphics cards are currently still without it.

EKWB emphasizes that the GPU bracket can only be installed if there are no bars between the expansion slots on the case and at least four to six are available. Alternatively, moders can of course make their housing fit with tools. However, for cases without this compatibility, an offset version of the EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO is already in prospect. This shifted variant includes a specially angled, 1.8 meter long Displayport cable (1.4) as an additional scope of delivery.
EKWB sells the EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO on its website, where it is available in stock, for 135.90 euros. Like many other products from the manufacturer, the GPU holder comes from Slovenian production. Further features can be found in the product description. Among other things, compatibility with the Radeon RX 6000 and Geforce RTX 3000 series is emphasized there.
